Privacy Policy

1. Data controller and contact

The controller of your personal data is Mateusz Kraska, the creator of the MultiQuiz app ("we"). For any questions about privacy and personal data, contact us at mistrzmatik@gmail.com.

2. What data we process

• Account identifier. You don't create an account or provide an email address or password. We recognise your account by an identifier: in the mobile app it is the device identifier provided by the operating system, and in the browser version it is a random identifier stored in a cookie and in your browser's storage.
• Player profile. The player name and avatar you choose and the date your account was created.
• Game data. Games played, answers given, scores, rating points, league, statistics, and practice and learning sessions.
• Content and community activity. Questions you submit, reports of incorrect questions, reports of other players, your friends list and friend invitations.
• Push notifications. If you agree to them — the notification token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) or the Apple Push Notification service (iOS).
• Technical data. When you connect to our servers, technical data (e.g. IP address, type of device and browser) is transmitted and may be recorded in server logs.
• Data collected by partners. Advertising and analytics providers (Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase) collect, among other things, your device's advertising identifier and information about your device and how you use the app — as described in sections 5 and 7.

You buy Premium in Google Play or the App Store. Payments are handled exclusively by these stores — we do not receive your card or any other payment details; the app only receives information from the store on whether your subscription is active.

3. Purposes and legal bases for processing

• Providing the service — running your account and games, rankings, leagues, friends, learning and practice. The legal basis is the performance of the contract for providing the service.
• Push notifications — e.g. when someone overtakes you in the ranking, your streak is at risk or the Grand Final is about to start. The legal basis is your consent, which you give in your system settings.
• Ads — they keep the game free. We show personalised ads only with your consent, and non-personalised ads on the basis of our legitimate interest in funding the app.
• Analytics and app development — aggregated usage statistics and error detection. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.
• Moderation and security — reviewing submitted questions, handling player reports and preventing abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.

4. What other players can see

Your player name, avatar, scores, league and ranking position are visible to other players, as is the authorship of accepted questions in the question creators ranking. Do not use your first and last name or any other information that could identify you as your player name.

5. Who we share data with

We use external service providers who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

• Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC) — Google AdMob (ads), Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics), Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), Google Gemini (automatically assigning categories to submitted questions — only the question text is shared), Google Play (app distribution and payments). • Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd.) — App Store (app distribution and payments) and the Apple Push Notification service. Apple Privacy Policy.
• DeepL (DeepL SE) — translating question content into other game languages. Only the question text is shared. DeepL Privacy Policy.
• Hosting provider — the servers that run the game and store the data are located in the European Union.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Transfers of data outside the European Economic Area

We store game data on servers in the European Union. Google and Apple may also process data outside the EEA, in particular in the United States. This takes place on the basis of a European Commission adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

• The uk.multiquiz.app website does not use cookies or any analytics or advertising tools.
• The browser version of the game stores your account identifier in a cookie and in your browser's storage — without it the game cannot recognise you. It also uses Google Analytics for Firebase, which sets its own cookies.
• The mobile apps use your device's advertising identifier to show ads. On iOS it can only be accessed with your consent (App Tracking Transparency). On Android you can reset or delete it in your system settings.

8. Consent and withdrawing it

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app will ask for your decision on personalised ads the first time you launch it. You can withdraw your consent to push notifications and tracking (iOS) at any time in your system settings. To change your decision about ads, write to us — withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it was withdrawn.

9. How long we keep data

• We keep account and game data for as long as you use the app.
• We delete inactive accounts automatically — this applies to accounts created more than 3 years ago on which no game has been played in the last 2 years.
• We will delete your account earlier at your request (section 10). Questions you added that have been included in the game may remain in it without any link to your account.
• We keep server logs for a limited time, as needed to ensure security and diagnose errors.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to rectify it (you can change your player name in the app), to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to withdraw your consent.

To exercise these rights — including deleting your account — write to mistrzmatik@gmail.com, giving your player name and game region. As accounts are not protected by a password, we may ask for additional confirmation that the account belongs to you.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). The authority competent for us is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland (uodo.gov.pl).

11. Children

MultiQuiz is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger people. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with data, write to mistrzmatik@gmail.com and we will delete it.

12. Security

Connections to our servers are encrypted (HTTPS), and only the people and systems that need access to run the game have access to the data.

13. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this policy, e.g. when new features are added to the app. The current version is always available on this page along with the date from which it applies.
